The service is funded by the Government SIE Fund. We provide the blind and partially sighted people with quality professional audio-described tours for museums, so that their number of visits to different museums can be boosted, and they can have a clearer understanding of the exhibits in museums. Through the ‘on-demand audio description services for museums’, people with visual impairment can have more flexibility to visit their favourite museums.

 

This service is first of its kind. It does not only provide the visually impaired with more opportunities to get access to exhibits in museums. It also offers more social interaction among the visually impaired people, describers and companions which encourages a more socially inclusive community. In addition, this service has end-user testing to ensure description quality.
